Strongpoint Theinert Ranch (STR) is a retreat for veterans and their families that promotes health and wellness. STR provides a place for small groups of guests to rejuvenate their body, mind, and spirit and offers a wide range of therapeutic and recreational activities that are customizable to the shared interests of each group and designed to foster bonding between guests. The ranch is located on a 1,000 acre former cattle ranch amongst the scenic mountains and open prairies of remote Magdalena, New Mexico.

In February 2016 we hosted our first retreat with 9 participants. Currently, STR retreats are made possible by our foundation, our family, and our friends. The Joseph J. Theinert Memorial Fund underwrites all guest travel and retreat expenses – averaging $600 per person. Our family provides housing for all retreat guests. Our friends volunteer their time coordinating trip logistics and leading retreat activities.
